The R&A has today formally cancelled The 149th Open 2020 at Royal St Georges, which was scheduled to be held in July 2020. It will now be played in July 2021, and The 150th Open at St Andrews, has moved from July 2021 to July 2022.
The 2020 event was cancelled due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, and was based on guidance from the UK Government, the health authorities, public services and The R&A’s advisers.
Over the next few days we will discuss with The R&A what these changes mean in finer detail for our tours and packages for The 149th Open at Royal St Georges and The 150th Open at St Andrews. We will also again follow up with our suppliers for both 2020 and 2021 this week.
At the same time, we are investigating the likelihood that travel restrictions and social distancing may remain in place to some extent next year, the health risks that may remain in the UK and Europe in 2020 and what the economy may look like
We will work through 2020 first, and then 2021. Please bear with us; now that The R&A has confirmed their plans, we have a lot to work through for both 2020 and 2021. In the meantime, we welcome you to call us if you have a specific question, and we will answer it as best we can. You can call me (Kristy) on 0416 468 070 or Kieran on 0416 481 764.
Thank you for your patience. Again, please call us if you would like to discuss any of the above.
Kristy and Kieran Moran.
