NZ’s Jack’s Point Golf Course recognised internationally for its sustainability by IAGTO
New Zealand’s Jack’s Point Golf Course in Queenstown has been awarded the prestigious Nature Protection Award by the International Golf Tour Operators association, the IAGTO, at its 19th annual presentation night, held in Slovenia.
The course was bestowed the title for its preservation of the incredible nature landscape when creating the course.
Speaking to www.ausleisure.com.au about receiving the award Jack’s Point General Manager John Griffith said the team was thrilled to be recognised for their effort in implementing its sustainable approach to conserving the natural environment of the golf course.
He said, “We are delighted to have achieved this international recognition for our on-going work to preserve our unique national environment at Jacks Point.”
Committed to the preservation of the environment, the breath-taking course has been designed around the natural landscape with minimal excavation. Jack’s Point Golf Course also became GEO Environment-Certified, endorsed by the GEO Foundation and the R&A and European Tour for its leadership in environmental sustainability in the golf industry.
The IAGTO awards are held annually and showcase the best golf destinations and resorts around the world as voted by the world’d golf tour operators and travel writers.
