Our journey: 2024 Golf Tour to the Mornington Peninsula

This year, we’ll stay at Moonah Links Golf Resort, central to all courses and home to its own manicured golf courses. That night, well hold our welcome dinner, and then on day two, we’ll tee off on St Andrews Beach.

St Andrews Beach Golf Course is ranked Australia’s fifth best Public Access Course by Golf Australia Magazine. Designed by world renowned course architect, Tom Doak, on a stunning piece of land, St Andrews Beach features dramatic undulations among subtle creases and hollows reminiscent of many coastal courses of the United Kingdom to provide a truly spectacular experience.

We’ll follow up St Andrews Beach with the uniquely quirky Cape Schanck Resort course, on day three. Situated at the southernmost tip of the Mornington Peninsula, this Championship course boasts impressive bunkering, treelined fairways and stunning ocean views from elevated tee positions.

After our rest day on day four, we’ll play The Dunes on day five.  The Dunes is a championship links golf course, consistently ranked in the Top 25 in Australia, that is a joy to play for golfers of all standards.

On day six, we’ll play the Legends Course of Moonah Links Golf Course, the younger sibling to the Open Course Moonah Links. The Legends Course was opened for play in 2003 after the Australian Open and was greeted with rave reviews.  The work of Ross Perrett, the Legends Course has consistently ranked highly in all course reviews and whilst slightly easier than the Open Course, is certainly no pushover.  The Legends is shorter, being “only” 6,315 metres off the black tees.  It is blessed with the better piece of land, has more natural trees and bushes through which the holes wander and certainly bunkers that would not look out of place in the sandbelt itself.  Perrett has added to the fun by naming each hole after a famous golfer; most are great Australians, though Arnold Palmer and Jack Nichlaus are in there too as international giants who have triumphed in Australia.

Finally, we’ll hold our championship round on day seven at the Moonah Links Open Course. The Open Course at Moonah Links allows golfers to step into the shoes of the pros for a day and test their drive on the only course designed for the Australian Open. The Open Course at Moonah Links is the first ever 18 holes built and prepared for a national championship. It is one of the longest courses in Australia, and probably in the world in this category.

Dining on local produce will be a focus on this tour: we’ll take you to dine in local, authentic eateries and restaurants so you can try the best of what the region produces and prepares.

Don’t miss this amazing opportunity to play golf, dine and have fun at the incredible Mornington Peninsula.
